Terms of Service
Last updated 3 October 2026
These Terms govern your use of Cybercats, the website and mobile app operated by the Cybercats operator. By creating an account you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Cybercats
You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secret, and you may only have one account.
2. What Cybercats is for
Cybercats helps developers and designers find teammates for side projects and startups. It is not a dating service. Romantic or sexual approaches of any kind are a violation of these Terms, whether in a roulette chat, a direct message or a project.
3. Rules
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone;
- send spam, scams, phishing, malware or unsolicited advertising;
- impersonate someone else or misrepresent your skills or work;
- share content that is illegal, sexual, violent, or that you do not have the right to share;
- share other people's personal data without their permission;
- manipulate rank or trust, for example with fake GitHub stars, scripted commits or coordinated reviews;
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service.
4. Moderation and enforcement
Messages are screened by AI moderation, and every chat and profile has Report and Block. Violations can lead to removed messages, a warning, a temporary ban or a permanent ban. Three warnings within 30 days result in a temporary ban. Permanent bans and sudden large rank changes are reviewed by a person before they take effect. You can appeal a portfolio score from your profile.
5. Your content and projects
You keep ownership of everything you post. You give us a limited licence to store and show it to other members as needed to run the service. Projects you start with other members are arrangements between you and them: ownership of code, designs and any business is up to you, and we are not a party to it. We never run code you submit.
6. Rank and trust
Rank and trust are automated estimates based on peer reviews, activity and other signals. They are not a guarantee of anyone's skill or reliability, and we may change how they are calculated.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account (web) or Profile → Delete account (app). We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.
8. No warranty, limited liability
Cybercats is provided free of charge and "as is". We do our best to keep it running and safe but cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free, and we are not responsible for what other members say or do. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. For meaningful changes we will update the date above and tell you in the app before they take effect; continuing to use Cybercats after that means you accept the new Terms.
